How it works
Ten cards. Five picks. Three values.
Step 1
Cut
Cut out the ten value cards on page 2.
Step 2
Sort
Read each card out loud, test line included. Sort into Really matters to me and Matters a little.
Step 3
Shortlist
From the Really matters pile, pick five.
Step 4
Choose three
Shuffle the five down to the three you line up with most. Write them on page 3 with one reason each.
What you need: the three pages, scissors, a pen, 15 minutes and no screens.
For the adult in the room
Encourage. Ask. Listen.
01
Encourage and ask
Ask why a card fits. Do not approve or reject it.
02
Let silences run
Thinking time is allowed. Count to ten before you fill it.
03
Let every value stand
They are all real answers, Fun included.
04
Get curious
If they pick Fun and Discipline, ask where they see each one in basketball, and in everyday life.
No right. No wrong. Every value is a good one, and your three can change as you grow.
